American Idol’s result night for the top 6 reveals a shocking elimination. The judges never regret saving Jessica Sanchez from elimination last week, though fans were thinking if she was going to be in the bottom 3 or even be sent home this week.

The contestants had two rounds to sing on performance night. It showed that every one gave their very best, because according to Randy people should vote for “the best”. Most of the contestants received praising comments, but some didn’t.
Results night was a shocker. First up on the chopping board were Joshua and Hollie. Jimmy says Hollie came out of her shell though he didn’t think that her song choice was an assurance of her safety. She may be good last night, but not good enough. And Joshua has to be consistent if he would be in the finale. Joshua was safe and Hollie was the first for the bootom 3.
Next were Skylar and Elise. We all know that Skylar has a powerful voice that makes her move up. And her personality also shines when she delivers. On the other hand, Elise didn’t seem to connect with the audience and this may be her downfall. So Elise was sent to the bottom 3.
Last to be called to the center of the stage were Jessica, Colton and Phillip. Everyone thought that the songs in the 2nd round were too old for Jessica, but she pulled it off. Phillip, on the other hand, impressed everyone with his own twist on Usher’s song. Jimmy hated everything about the “Bad Romance” rendition of Colton. And Colton even admitted that it seems that it wasn’t his best this week. So Colton completed the bottom 3.
It was stressful waiting for the results already of who would be eliminated. It was really a surprising result when Colton Dixon was the one sent home. Everyone thought that this time they would base it on how the contestants performed in the whole season. It seems like Colton’s choices this week really pulled him down.
