JOKWON First Solo Album in “I’M DA ONE”

Eight years as a trainee and another four years has passed since the debut of 2AM boy band leader, JO KWON, in the entertainment industry. And now, the long wait is almost over! Jo Kwon believes that the time has come to unveil his true potential through the release of his first solo album, “I’M DA ONE”.

‘Merriment’ is the underlying theme of I’m Da One, the latter also being the lead/title track of the album. This full-packed album is loaded with ten brand new tunes featuring the carrier single, “I’m Da One”, as well as an astounding collaboration with notable deejay, Avicii, in the song “Animal”. It also includes the rhythmical “Awesome Girl”, the groovy yet heartbreaking song “Lipstick”, the retro pop anthem “Who’s Loving You Now”, the Harry Potter-inspired track “Wingardium Leviosa”, the sensual electric guitar chants in “Something ‘Bout You”, the soulful Mi So Lee duet in “Heaven” plus the sweet piano ballad “Just A Kiss”. Indeed, it is evident that the ‘electronic party’ sound of the album reflects a lighter and playful side of Jo Kwon.

Jo Kwon, commonly known as Sacre Bleu, is the longest-serving male trainee in JYP Entertainment, having trained for 2567 days; exactly 7 years and 12 days since joining JYP. He was chosen as the last member of Park Jin Young's "99% Challenge Project" along with Sunye of Wonder Girls. In 2008, he appeared on MNET's Hot Blood, a program that showed the intense physical training that 13 male trainees had to go through for the opportunity to debut in either 4-member ballad group or 7-member dance group One Day under JYP Entertainment. After getting through the eliminations, Jo Kwon was given the lead position of a 4-member ballad group.

JO KWON’s I’M DA ONE album will be out this August 2012 under MCA Music and will be available at Odyssey Music & Video or online via OdysseyLive E-Shop (www.odysseylive.net). Prior to the release, an exclusive video conference with Jo Kwon will be hosted by MCA Music in cooperation with LG Electronics and Odyssey Music & Video on July 19, to officially unveil this exciting new album.
