About Me: Since the band’s conception in 2001, Severo has built a sizeable following of listeners, constantly yearning for their fix of what the band describes as spicypurplerobotic rock. Despite their relentless search for new ways of defining their sound, the band still draws inspiration from their idols of old: the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jamiroquai, Radiohead, and Soundgarden. With the departure of founding guitarist Marc de Guzman, Severo has once again manipulated their music to produce an altogether different vibe. This done by recruiting new blood, in the person of Mateo Fabregas, whose crazy riffs have managed to blend in seamlessly with the wailing, sexy sound of Panggo Sarreal’s saxophone, Zach Sycip's bass wizardry, left-handed drummer Jayr Magtoto's funky beats, and the distinctive freestyling of frontman Enzo Marcos. Severo has taken the stage in venues like Mag:Net Bar, Club Dredd, Big Sky Mind, Temple Bar, Absinthe, Peligro, Capones, Rock Radio, Saguijo, and Route 196. They have also performed in campus events like the UP Fair, concerts such as Fete de la Musique, and in various productions such as, Select Jumpstart and Sonic Boom Philippines, Princess Batugan, Kerplunk, and Revolver, among others. Severo’s debut album is currently in the works. Experience, effort, and an unwavering passion for making music have strengthened the band as a unit, producing a sound more solid than before, one that bears their definitive signature: a groovy-jazzy-funk aural experience.
