About Me:
|
During the summer of 2005, five individuals with totally different methods and approaches to music banded together like interlaced fingers to form Angulo.

Punk? Emo? Ambient? Post-Hardcore? On the verge of breaking out of the Philippine Rock Scene, Angulo combines five musicians, meshing like interlaced fingers, banding each of their own musical stylings and influences, and producing music that can only be best described as "organized chaos".
Catering to rock listeners with an ear for memorable melodies, and to those who still find value in the musicality behind the blaring riffs and raucous beats, the band believes that there will always be the right words to describe the intense emotions that define every individual. Coming from different universities and personal backgrounds, Angulo has always followed the maxim that, “Its the music that binds us all.” However, to them this motto also signifies how music can depict various passions and emotions into words that may suggest different interpretations, and yet provide an unmistakable connection between each one of us.
Despite being relatively new to the scene, the band has consistently been winning raves and praise from their veteran peers in the band scene over the last two years for their intense sets, their jarringly hypnotic rock sound, and their unforgettable progressions, arrangements, lyrics and melodies. Bands as diverse as Urbandub, Chicosci, Sandwich, and Up Dharma Down have asked Angulo to open for them regularly, signifying the trust and belief that these more-experienced bands have for them.
Aside from winning over the approval of scores of college and high school kids around the Metro, as demonstrated by the number of school gigs over the past year, they have also been staples for harder-edged Pulp Magazine events such as Summer Slam, Fete de la Musique, and the World Battle of the Bands, showing that their music is widely accepted by various sectors.
Angulo has also built a loyal core of fans through good ol’ fashioned hard work, non-stop practices, gigs and performances, online marketing, and a positive and goal-oriented attitude, and they believe that with the release of their debut album, they are ready for the mainstream.
The five members of Angulo (Niles Chong on vocals, Lio Valiao and Kelvin Uy on guitars, Johncy Agregado on bass, and Niko Dinglasan on drums), along with producer and engineer Pat Jalbuena of Kerplunk! Studios and co-producer Gabby Alipe of Urbandub, have completed their debut album, Blur the White Lines. It is a collection of 12 tracks that traverse a journey of emotions. From loneliness and love, to rebirth and redemption.
The carrier single, “The Best Mistake”, has already won the hearts of many in the online community, and is ready to bust through radio stations soon. The music video for this single will also be shot very soon with established music video director Pancho Esguerra (Bamboo, Urbandub, Sandwich) at the helm. odysseylive.net/angulo
