IT'S GREAT TO BE BACK!!!
FINALLY I CAN SING AGAIN!!!! after more than a month on hiatus because
of my throat problem, i finally played my first two shows for 2008!
and both were awesome experiences!
the first gig was at iloilo. the crowd was amazing! everyone was going
crazy, jumping up & down, moshing, & singing along and not just to the
old songs but to the new ones as well and they knew it by heart! it
still amazes me that people like the songs we make. it makes all the
hard work we put in all worth while. such a humbling experience to see
people connect with you through something you create. thanks to the
iloilo crowd for coming out and showing your support and became part
of the 1st urbandub show for 2008!
the 2nd gig was at our hometown of CEBU! the annual sonic boom sinulog
gig! it's always great to play infront of the home crowd! we've been a
band for almost 8 years now and it's great to know that we still have
our hometown's support! thanks for singing along and for braving the
heat of the venue! everyone was dripping wet with perspiration! it
smelled like ARMPIT inside the packed venue but it was all worth
it...great vibes the whole night! i still get goose bumps everytime i
hear people singing our lyrics back to us! congratulations to the
sonic boom staff for another great sinulog event. the lines to get in
the venue stretched around the block for this year! it was an amazing
sight! people came in droves to see local bands perform! thank you to
all your support! i feel bad though for the people in line that were
refused entry to the venue because the place was packed. so next year
try to come earlier. hehe.
definitely a great way to start this gigging year for me and my band.
i've quit smoking for good and i'm trying to cut down on my alcohol
intake. the rehab period did me good. my voice doesn't feel as
stressed out after gigs like before. this year's resolution for me is
"discipline" hehe! i love what i do and i love seeing people react
positively with what we do as a band. when i couldn't perform for that
entire month i felt so useless. i'm praying this year will be very
different for urbandub. i'm excited with the possibilities and more
excited about hitting the road again and performing the new songs
infront of all of you!
