Michael Jackson Passes: RIP King Of Pop

Jun. 26, 2009 4:14 PM 8 comments

I woke up today with 2 text messages on my phone, both telling me about the Pop stars death.  Being that i was really quite groggy and still half asleep, i couldn't entirely react to the situation although i felt a deep dread at the same time.  I fell back asleep but my mind had already wandered through countless thoughts about the reclused performer.

I had seen him on December 10. some time in the 90's when he came to the Philippines for a 2 night concert.  I dont even remember the whereabouts of the concert anymore but i was there, and with a pretty good spot to see everything that happened on that massive stage.  He also had a huge big screen behind the stage that took you on a trip that was part of the entire concert experience.  We basically started the show looking at that screen which was following a space ship and after about 3-5 minutes there was an explosion and that very same space ship was onstage.  Door opens, smoke leaks out, a light shines brightly and as the smoke clears, there he was, Michael Jackson in the flesh.  One tiny movement and the crowd roars only for him to be still for another few minutes!  Another tiny movement, and the crowd went wild again!  The concert was an exhillirating experience and I wasn't even that much of a fan of his although i did like a number of his tracks.  I mainly saw him so as to not miss out on this rare opportunity and boy am i happy i did!  After all, he is one of if not THE best entertainer and performer in the entire history of performance and entertainment!  The concert ended again with the audience focused on the big screen which eventually got everyone to look up at the sky for the surprise fireworks show that ended the concert.  I may not have been a huge fan of his but i was screaming "I Love You Michael!" at the top of my lungs throughout the whole show!

Today, Michael Jackson has passed due to cardiac arrest at the very young age of 50.  He's pretty much been a recluse since his troubled times at court and with his questioned appearance.  I never really cared about all of that stuff, i just wanted him to continue making music and being around for the world to see because he truly is an amazing artist with a great singing voice and a body made to dance!

Odyssey Music and Video (nationwide) is going to re-sell his albums and DVD's, if you miss him and want to see and hear him again, as i do, feel free to grab yourselves a few copies.

Rest In Peace Michael and welcome to the great big gig in the sky!

deej deej Jun. 27, 2009 1:10 AM kahit ako bothered by MJs death...I won't deny that I'm a fan (but I'm a bigger fan of one of his drummers Jonathan Moffett)... I'm really glad now that I went to his concert here... I will always remember myself playing along with his songs... until now I do...and still play his songs live w/ one of my bands....

anyway, this is just part Michael Jackson, but see this link to see Jonathan Moffett's drumset during MJ's HIStory World Tour that also hit the Philippines in 1996:
