About Me: ShutEyeView started out in July 2006 with four people from four different bands. The band’s music is characterized by simple melodies and earnest lyrics, influenced by local acts such as the Eraserheads & Updharmadown and international acts like U2, Coldplay and John Mayer. The group was one of the nominees for the In the Raw Award at the 2008 NU Rock Awards. Their song ‘Karusel’ was the In the Raw Standout Track in the first week of July 2008. They have three songs in the independently released Cinco: The Bandwagon Compilation Album. ShutEyeView was a finalist at the 1st Halo-Halo song competition sponsored by Acoustic Underground. The band also performed at Jam Sessions(Jam 88.3) in July 2007. It also was one of the forty artists chosen by Nokia IAC for free recording sessions at Kerplunk Studios. ShutEyeView is part of Bandwagon Productions, which is a group of four bands touring the popular venues in the Metro. The prod has played at Club Dredd/Gweilo's Eastwood, Mag:net, Katipunan, Saguijo, Purple Haze, Bela's Bar, Caliente, Dayo Bar and 6 underground. Shuteyeview has performed at Duty Free Fiesta Mall and SM Clark. They performed at the Breakfast Show at Studio 23 in January 2007. Their songs have also been featured at Magic 89.9 & RX Zamboanga. The band is set to release its first album, Day/Night, produced by Jugs Jugueta of The Itchyworms and recorded by Billy Reyes of Stonefree. About Day/Night The songs in Day/Night talk about the ups and downs of one’s journey through life. From despair to hope, from sadness to joy, from the silly to the deep, from life’s night to day—every moment in life is significant. The album is about finding meaning and beauty in everything, and finding your own path. The songs Karusel, Promdi and Autograp have had airplay at NU107, Jam 88.3 and UR 105.9. The next single is “Tara Na,” which talks about rising up together after evey challenge.
