About Me: Armed, sexy, intoxicated, and teasing, Top Junk has evolved from a 4 piece pop band to a venomous disco punk outfit. Formed in 2005, the band is currently producing a debut album slated for release and piracy in the last quarter of 2009. top junk is a band with a buoyant spirit, playing songs that will instantly insist feet tapping combinations from listeners wanting a drunken vibe. If music is to be an intoxicant, let us then realize it in an optimal kick! Formed in 2005, the band dispersed its roots within the underground and indie scene playing an eclectic display of pop, punk, and disco through various bars, events and kiddie parties. Marizel Sarangelo sings, Jerico Placido disrupts the guitar and Dennis Leung swats the drums. All have agreed to sell their soul by playing music that would postpone their mortality at least. The band started with 13 original cuts strewn in the internet for free with most of the recordings in demo versions. Top junk authored the theme for Jack TV’s ‘peep show’, a local hip transmission in Philippine Cable viewing. An EP with 5 tracks engineered by local heroes, Mark Escueta (rivermaya, birdhouse), Eric Perlas (cog, tower of doom) and Ronnie Conda (alpha music, studio 28) is obtainable in live gigs and subsequent apparitions.
